Well, the first of the 3 weekend performances of our production of the comedy “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” came and went successfully. As “Vanya”, I elicited oodles of high praises, especially for my delivery of the 5-page monologue, prompting an ovation during my tearful exit.
What made the matinee performance on Sunday, June 2nd extra special was knowing that my cousin Nanny and her two grownup kids, Tracy and Alvin were in the audience. I had not seen Nanny for over 50 years and the subsequent after-the-show get together brought back a lot of memories. Of course, I was teary-eyed as we recounted moments of being together in the Philippines. Dinner, coffee, and dessert complemented the evening. I blew kisses as Alvin drove by me on their way home.
What a weekend!
