I have been leaving unfinished glass of wine on my nightstand lately.
Perhaps the hours of being on my desktop, laptop, iPhone, and watching mindless YouTube videos while comfortably laid out on my Posturepedic bed have made me fall asleep easily without finishing the glass of wine. And, to find it unfinished in the morning upsets me.
Growing up in the Philippines, I have let the mantra of avoiding waste direct my life. So, finding an unfinished glass of wine in the morning continues to pose a quandary to me.
Should I or shouldn’t I finish it?
Hmmm…I tried finishing it once. It was Sam’s Club Member’s Mark Riesling which has been getting high scores from wine enthusiasts. But I am digressing.
Drinking that leftover Riesling on an empty stomach was fine. I didn’t feel anything that was physically untoward. In fact, I felt good that I didn’t waste it.
But this time it is red wine. Sam’s Club Member’s Mark Red Wine Blend. I couldn’t find any rating about it from wine enthusiasts. But I am digressing. AGAIN!
Hmmm…should I drink it on an empty stomach?
I know that studies have shown that red wines help ward off cancers. But drinking a heavy wine on an empty stomach in early morning?
Should I wait till I am ready to have food in my stomach?
I know that drinking wine on an empty stomach improves appetite, but I usually have breakfast at around noon.
Hmmm…I know that red wine should be allowed to “breathe”, but over 30 minutes?
Well, I will find out eventually since noon is about 4 hours from now.
What do you think?
