After enjoying my free T-Mobile Tuesday Burger King Whopper, I drove to the Jewel grocery store to have some salmon with skin which was on sale.
Seeing a fillet size on display, I asked the fish person whether it weighed a pound.
He weighed it and found it to be 0.930 lb.
“Close enough”, he said.
I hesitated a bit since I usually buy 2-3 pounds whenever there is a sale. But, after heaving a deep sigh, I told him to go ahead and wrap it for me.
I thanked him and I placed the wrapped salmon on my cart and decided to look around for asparagus to go with my salmon.
Went up and down the vegetable aisle, but couldn’t find any.
So, I pushed my cart towards the self-checkout machines.
Found one that was empty and proceeded to do my one and only checkout.
Bagged my salmon, pulled the freshly-printed receipt, and pushed my cart towards the door.
As I was happily pushing my cart (I don’t know why I took a cart since I only wanted to get some salmon), I looked down at it and noticed that it was empty.
I immediately turned around suspecting that I left my salmon somewhere and saw a guy, who apparently took the same machine that I just vacated, holding my bag saying, “You forgot your fish!”.
While laughing, I said, “Thanks! I thought it swam away”.
I heard him and the checkout clerk laughing as I left the grocery store with an ear-to-ear grin, carrying my 0.930 lb salmon towards my car.
